Batopilas Airstrip is Paved
The Batopilas airstrip is finally being paved!
Once the airstrip is fully paved, it will have the capacity to allow airplanes as large as the Grand Caravan to land. The idea behind this project is to bring more tourism to Batopilas from more distant places such as Los Cabos, Alamos and Puerto Vallarta and beyond.
Batopilas has long been a favored tourist destination in the Copper Canyon, and with many new improvements being made such as this airstrip being paved and the road from the Creel junction being paved, the 3-year tourist development plan overseen by Leonel Hernandez, mayor of Batopilas, will be one step closer to bringing a higher volume of tourists to this beautiful canyon bottom and enchanting town. Mr. Hernandez has already connected the back roads from Batopilas to Urique, thereby opening up yet another way to reach this magical town.
The Canyon of Batopilas has always been an highlight to any Copper Canyon visit, but because it was logistically hard to reach, many visitors on a tighter scheudule have had to sadly pass it by. Batopilas will now take its rightful place in the Copper Canyon as a destination 'not to be missed' and with so many new routes and ways to get to it, access will be easier than ever.
Se pavimenta aeropista en Batopilas!
La pista aeria del poblado de Batopilas ha comenzado ha ser pavimentada con el propósito de que cumpla con las especificaciones necesarias para poder recibir aviones de mediana capacidad tales como el Gran Caravan de 13 plazas entre otros. La idea detras de este proyecto es la de atraer turismo directamente al municipio de destinos turísticos lejanos como Los son Los Cabos, mazatlan, Puerto Vallarta, Alamos y muchos otros mas.
Ofertar a Batopilas como un destino de entrada a las Barrancas del Cobre, cumple con el plan de desarrollo turistico del municipio de colocar a la entidad, no solo como un destino turistico a visitar, sino también como un puerto de entrada que ofrezca acceso directo al fondo de una de las barrancas mas profundas y espectaculares del sistema de Barrancas del Cobre, la Barranca de Batopilas.
